Meet the Owners
When Zed Pirbhai and James Honeycutt worked together for a major “big box” chain furniture store, they not only learned more about the furniture business, they developed their own personal vision on how not to do business. At the big chain stores, they had no flexibility to work with customers who needed a little flexibility. They had limited options in inventory. They dealt with the bureaucracy of big business—it was the big store’s way or the highway, and nobody seemed to care if customers didn’t get what they wanted.
Together they imagined how their own store would be different.
They’d focus on good old-fashioned customer service.
They’d connect with a huge variety of manufacturers so customers would have more choices.
They’d help customers make better purchasing decisions by giving them more information, always dealing honestly about quality versus price, and why one piece might be a better fit than another.
And, they’d have fun on the job.
Today, Zed and James work the floor as owners and managers of Furniture Nation, and love every minute of the day. “If you enjoy what you do, it’s not work anymore,” said Zed. “We know furniture more than any other industry, and we enjoy it immensely!” With over 25 years’ combined experience, Zed and James have the experience they need to keep true to their vision and supply customers with exactly what they’re looking for.
